Could very easily be connected to this. A nice 50hz howl at 3000 rpm when on a light load which would allow the cogs to vibrate against each other might sound familiar to some folk. My bevel box produces minimal noise (amongst the general cacophony at least) when under a heavy acceleration load or on the over run.
Ergo, drive it like you stole it. No bevel box noise. cheers
