Dave my axle appears to have moved forward on the drivers side by about 1cm compared to the other side. Is this physically possible and if so how do I move it back ?
If you got this idea from looking at the position of the wheel in the wheel arch it is more likely that the position of the rear mudguard is different from left to right. If your car had a rear axle 1 cm out of line it would be crabbing sideways down the road
With the steering straight ahead try measuring the distance both sides between the front and rear wheel nuts.
