The wings were last off the car in 2011, when Kevin Vernon fitted a new chassis, and he reassembled with stainless fasteners done the old way, with the heads of the bolts inside underneath the upholstery, protruding through the wheel arch with nuts on the inside. They came apart very easily, they had been well-lubed with Copaslip.

To make reassembly easier, I'm switching to the current MMC method of fixing the wings which is to use threaded inserts screwed into the wood of the wheel arch and secured with epoxy. Then I'll use M6 stainless setscrews with stainless and rubber penny washers to hold the wings in place.
