I don't tune in anymore - I caught the Senna bit by chance when it was repeated. It went up its own backside quite some time ago, it's a self-aggrandising format now. Clarkson used to be full of insight and his own opinions, now he just seems to throw out hyperbole more and more (missing why it was funny in the first place as it was sparsely used). The best stuff he ever did on TV was his historical documentaries, when he was being more serious. I'd like to see more of that Clarkson and less of the airfield driving eejit.
Yes, I'd agree with all that you say- and indeed what others have added in the same vein.
I know we tend to throw out words such as formulaic,hyperbole etc and the sad fact is that the programme has now sunk to this- it s just a caricature and that is saddest of all.
Like a lot of us, I've also seen JC's forays into the history stuff but although I find the subject matter interesting, others have done the same subjects much better. I would except from that statement his programme on St Nazaire where Robert Cain ( who is/was of course his father in law) won the VC. I found that the 'personal angle' made it quite watchable
