Now I know that none of you ever speed ( apart from Cereal and Me Tony) but I become curious as to the actions of our friends in blue lately.
A few years back I was caught going through a local village by a Special Constable and ticketed for 33 mph. He said I didn't slow down quickly enough on the road into the village. £60 and 3 points.
A few nights back I was caught in my own village at the back of a line of cars at 36 mph. Currently awaiting outcome.
I currently have a clean license (not been often I could claim that & French speeding doesn't count) and having gone around the office to assess likely outcomes and it appears that those caught for speeding locally have had mixed actions. 38 mph no points but speed awareness course, 33 mph points and a fine.
I spoken to a traffic officer recently on this and he laughed and said it must be van or camera and that they would only ticket if you were doing something stupid. A strong bo***cking was considered far more effective.
I'd be interested in everyone else's experience in differing parts of the country /world.
