A friend recounted a story many years ago of getting stopped on his motorbike for doing 40mph in a 30mph zone. When the police office gave him the ticket he asked for it to be changed to 70mph as he didn't think he could face his fellow bikers for being nicked for only being 10mph over the limited.
A discussion took place and his refusal resulted in the police officer tearing up the ticket and letting him go.
