I've been thinking about subscribing to Coyote for a while (in France), suspect it's now going to be a case of bolting the stable door...
Driving home yesterday from an excellent Aero event in Central France, had been following a very smoky diesel car for about 6-7 km with no opportunity to overtake. Coming out of a village an uphill section of wide open clear road with the benefit of a two lane in my direction overtaking zone. Started to overtake, diesel car accelerated belching out even more smoke, so I put my foot down to overtake asap. Didn't even look at the speedo and having completed manoeuvre was easing off to my usual cruising speed on a French departmental road when I saw about 200m ahead two officers of the law running out into the raod.
Long and short of it, 144 kmh clocked, 136 kmh registered on the ticket which, means immediate loss of license as had exceeded limit of 90 kmh by more than 40 kmh.
So my good lady finally got to drive the Aero, it's been a while since I'd been nagging her to do so, and I have to wait to hear from the courts. License loss will probably be for 1-2 months and haven't yet surfed the net to find typical fine.
Not sure what would have happened had I not traded in my UK license two years ago. Car impounded???
Cheers
