Concerning the Vredestein sprint classic, I would mention three positive points all regarding the 165/80/15:
lightweight, just 7,6 Kg, very good looking and in the meantime not too expensive (note the dot number because this tyre is around for many years now, in Germany you can get it from 100€ to 150€).
But...After reading yesterday some offerings in the net I am really confused!!
Regarding the Sprint Classic, all EU tyre labeling has been deleted and I‘m very sure I could find it two years ago. I remember a very poor wet rating.
Now and this is my point, things may have changed: The EU labeling is gone and...if we would be legally correct, all tyre dealers and the Vredestein homepage claim, that the Sprint Classic IS ALLOWED ONLY! ON CARS OLDER THAN 1990.
I guess, this strategy allows Vredestein not having to claim any longer how poor it performs in the wet, but it is mandatory for all tyres being used on new cars (or younger than 1990) to show this EU labeling at least in Germany.
In addition Vredestein canceled the T-Trac-2 regarding classic dimensions like 165/80/15 because this tyre may have cannibalized the sell of the Sprint classic. The T-Trac-2 has had the best wet labeling of all 165/80/15 tyres and it was a very good tyre I have since 2.5 years.
The new Dunlop classic will be my next choice but the tread does not look really classic and the tyre weights 9 Kg which is 1,5 Kg more at the outer circle of the wheel and therefore this weight figure is not to underestimate.
