Harley Davidson dealers in LeMans fitted my unit using 2bolts directly onto the mounting plate welded to the chassis. This was back in 2014.
It has been faultless ever since.
I had the same repair one or two days after Dab of oppo in Le Mans, I was happy to get the last unit :), no problems since then
