The Shindengen SH847 must be mounted on a thick aluminum plate of about 5 mm to dissipate heat and thermal paste between the two prevents it from overheating, personally I bought a Chinese copy for less money which I have not yet tried because I still have three new adaptable Harley type regulators in stock which are also made in China and as durable as the original regulator.
