My radiator lasted about seven years and 12000 miles. It hadn’t started leaking but I got Williams to change it for their alloy one. Lucky I did. The outlet pipe was collapsing.

I forget who but someone posted this pic a while back.
The mechanical strength of a GF nylon 66 rad starts to fall away over 100C. Given that the coolant can leave the head at 110C it’s not surprising the compression from the hose clip will collapse the pipe. I think if I had a plastic rad I might try adding a thin wall metal sleeve inside to support the clip.
