They changed the louvres with the launch of the first Roadster series1. Only that car had an intake directly at the inside bonnet of the louvres. My unimportant guess: MMC did some survey at that time, perhaps the airflow was better by changing the direction of the louvres. Then the following series had a different intake but now the tools for the bonnet had been altered and will still be used until today.
