I'm off out in Tarka to fill up in advance of an early start tomorrow to Thrill on the Hill.

Some web research confirms that as we age blood pressure is subject to more variability. Two particular issues are sitting still, for example watching TV and then getting up. As we stand the blood pools in the lower part of our body and causes a temporary black out.
After eating a large meal the body diverts blood to the gut to help take away the products of digestion. Combine the two and what happened to me will happen. I'd only had 2 glasses of wine, one with supper and one after....

I have been taking drugs to maintain my BP at a healthy level for years. Further research suggests it may be a good idea to reduce the dosage. My younger sister had a TIA a couple of years ago: uncontrolled high BP. That was a reality check.

Clearly all this needs a discussion with my GP.
