Loads of good advice here thanks. I'd go with the remote idea but as Graham said and I found out...again, you still need to check for grease, especially if it gets to the brake discs. Robbie's right, he will find just the right amount of 'squirts' to minimise excess grease but even so I'd want to be underneath to reassure myself that all's well.
I have found one solution at another garage no too far away, 30mins. He says if folks get their Mog serviced by him, he lets them use his gear to grease up every 1000 miles, for free. He says he could do it for me if I use him for servicing as it only takes a few mins. Now that's the kind of place I like the sound of! Certainly not using that local garage for anything after that experience.
