As one of those who traded their ARP4 in after a short, in my case very short ( 3 weeks ) ownership, it is interesting and refreshing to hear that Paul is still, overall, a keen advocate of the car and enjoying the experience.
My expectations were not met by the ARP4 and I do not regret trading it in for a new Roadster, which I particularly love for it’s low down torque, reminiscent of my LM62 Plus 8.
Given that the ARP4s are now, in most cases, over 3 years old I would be interested to hear how owners have got on with their MOTs. I was somewhat concerned in 2016 about the emissions test, looking forward, and wonder whether there have been any issues in this regard.
My parting impression when handing back the keys to my ARP4 in 2016 was that it was very much a track car dressed up as a Tourer.
On my last few drives in the car I had to wear my biking ear plugs to mute the excessive noise. The fact that I couldn’t hear my wife was a side effect which some might think advantageous!
I loved ( and still do love ) the look of the car and just wish it had been closer to my expectations.
