If I'm reading correctly the question is which face of the hammer to use.
I would use the copper face for removal and the hide side for fitting.
This because the spinners will tighten themselves (as long as they are fitted to the correct side of the car as marked)
I'm guessing because I've never used one, I use a wooden saver. Someone with more experience will give you a definite answer.
