I don't see the benefits of superchargers and think they are a bit old fashioned - they seem to take 50bhp to give 100bhp, so only gaining 50bhp ? Turbos seem much more efficient. Can anyone enlighten me ?
The (old) beauty of a supercharger was that it delivered across the rev range. If you remember the early turbos were like having a big 'on' switch once the turbo came on song. Modern electronic controls and low pressure turbos have negated these effects so that you are right that the turbo is now the best option.
