No, we (like many people) will be very happy to own an EV, the service is more aimed at people who don't or can't own their own car. Besides, that's what electric pushbikes are for. I use mine for pretty much any journey under 10 miles. "Just popping over to B&Q" is a great excuse to stop off at the pub for a quick pint or two on the way home.
