I took a look at mine after1000miles and indeed there was oil drooling out of the throttle body into the mesh of the air filter.
I suppose you could call it a top oil to lubricate the valves but the catch can might not be a bad idea, especially if it still retained connection to the throttle body.
The bigger question is where to put it, especially if you have a front mounted oil cooler.
