Usually for hoses I just add another layer of rubber. An old hose cut to length and slotted will fit over the hose and grip, without clips, although cable ties could be used.
Chafing is a big issue under the bonnet, so inspect everything closely.
My first choice for many purposes!
in my workshop I use this "rubber splicing tape" (offered by many companies) very often. You can wrap it around tubes, cables, wires and so on!
