In the UK that's called 'self amalgamating tape' ..... always have some in my toolbox and bought a new roll a couple of days ago ..... good stuff but doesn't like fuel ....turns to chewing gum.

The owner of the hardware store next door offered me a roll FOC. A customer had returned it because
it wouldn't stick to itself. Turns out he'd not realised you need to remove the backing tape
