I wrote this just after driving the car, at the same time as I drove the Plus 4 Auto and my SSL Modified Plus 8.
Lockdown followed soon after...

I drove from Librands Office to the starting point of my 2019 drive and set off. The car has been transformed…. The modifications, which comprise a set of new coil-over damper units all round and some very clever variable resistance drop links between the front ARB and lower wishbones completely change the character of the car and result in a car that is equal to, or possibly better than both my SSL Plus 8 and the new Plus Four.

The Cattle Grid test was passed with flying colours, at 50mph no less. Then across the old common road the car tracked straight and true, no need to make corrections to cancel out the consequences of the uneven road surface that had concerned me before. The skittishness that was always lurking had gone. Driving out of Old Sodbury on the steep uphill left hand, ever tightening, curve the car was comfortable at between 45 and 50mph, just as were the PlusFour and SSL Plus 8.
Running along the B4040 to Acton Turville the combination of refined ride, precise handling and brutal power made it very difficult to drive within the national speed limit. The PlusFour seems small and nippy, the SSL PlusSix more refined and GT like, but the difference is small.
On the A46 north towards the Horton turn the car was just fast and comfortable, but the real surprise was the road through Horton village. The surface is patched, broken and not at all nice to drive over, even in my SSL Plus 8. The speed limit is, of course, 30mph but 20 is fast enough in my Plus 8. The SSL PlusSix soaked up almost all the roughness, making 30mph perfectly achievable.

Overall this relatively inexpensive modification has transformed the car and made it very desirable. Anyone who has a PlusSix and is not happy with the ride and handling should beat a path to Librands or one of their distributors.
