I did say that they generally lasted that long and that some have lasted much more or much less, it isn't a fixed life. Don't just put your finger up the hole to check for bits of rubber, have a look inside with a small mirror on a stick and a strong light. The rubber bits usually end up at the back on the lowest point of the bellhousing and you should be looking for chunks not just dust.
