Isn’t it surprising though that Cornwall turned out to be the only mainland uk area to be in tier 1, despite the influx of summer visitors and the south west in general has fared much better than the rest of the country. Could it be down to those people mingling outdoors rather than indoors and of course, the second home owners are generally more self contained. (Having said that, I would still subscribe to road blocks on the Tamar Bridge and Bodmin Moor!)


Thats because both Scotland and Wales have put the whole "country" into tier 4. I am sure that the higlands and mid wales will be much the same as cornwall for the same reason - they are almost empty.

That said, here in Monmotushire we arent densly populated. Its a country area. But we are still close on 500 per 100k and rising.
