I just read that in all new Golf VIII the touch screen has to be replaced. It has failed in almost all new Golf VIII. There is a new control module and a software update. But what I find outrageous: There is a bar on the touch screen for the radio volume and for the temperature setting / air conditioning. These are not illuminated. This is not improved. It remains unlit. If you drive at night, you can't change the radio volume and you can't adjust the temperature. What stupid economy measures. I would never buy a car like this.
All conventional knobs and switches have been removed. There is no longer intuitive operation. Last year 300 drivers were killed in Germany because they were distracted from driving. These were not only mobile users but also people with these newfangled cars. You have to go into submenus to change the simplest things. How nice it is to drive a classical Trad Morgan.
