JJW - if I wanted a new Morgan and the only way was to buy a rolling chassis and have the engine fitted locally, that's what I would do.
British Leyland used to export cars in CKD form (Completely Knocked Down)- which means crated components with fully assembled shells. Cars went all over the world like that for local assembly, so it's nothing new. Vast numbers of MG's were exported that way.
