I used the same type of tool for Classic Mini brake cylinders. Main issue I eventually had was that after having been used a few times the conical section acquired a few “scars” that eventually impeded the smooth transition of the clip over the cone. I think I cleaned it up with a fine file and Emery, but next time I will do this I will buy a fresh tool.
