I do find it perplexing but also quite staggering the poor levels of rain and wind insulation provided by Morgans. Haven driven convertible cars of all makes from the humble MG Midget to a Rolls Royce for nearly 50years . I have never experienced in other makes the levels of tailoring necessary for a modern Morgan to achieve a decent level of wind and water sealing of the hood and frame, no other car have I found it necessary on occasion to wear a warm water proof jacket whilst driving in heavy rain with the hood up.

There is nothing new about a soft top roof, many car manufacturers have achieved high levels of efficiency from their roofs with a little ingenuity and often with quite basic design, executed well in production that seems to just escape Morgans efforts, for what is now a quite expensive car. Even the humblest mass produced Midget with a similar hood design could seal the glass side windows against the worst of the elements.
