My first experience was with Escorts, crossflow engines and cable clutches. Very similar set-up to my 1978 4/4 with 4 speed box. Followed article in Miscellany to convert to 5 speed Sierra box.
All clutch adjustments followed same guidance, which is detailed in Escort Haynes manual.
Sold the 4/4 in 2000, but still know the car, which is on the same clutch renewed at gearbox change.
