While I have remained out of this discussion (because I really don't care either way - for me it's another Morgan, plain and simple, though I understand Dave W's dilemma) I would dispute your comments above.
Yes, there is a lot of interaction with a trad. I love the pure driving experience of my '76 4/4. But there is also a lot of interaction with an Aero8 (particularly the Series 1). It is a car (like e.g. TVRs) that requires full driver input - drive it wrong and it will bite (and bite hard as a number of owners of early Aero8s found out!). There is no pampering inadequate driver ability with lots of electronic gizmos a la Scooby, Skyline, Porker etc.
The Aero8, and it's derivatives, is still very much a pure drivers' car. Just a shame I can't afford one
