Okay, this is good advice, Is the idea that the the engine vibration creates shear stress on those bolts? I think my mounting arms may be putting pressure on it all right. I think I need to order slightly smaller spacers. I think I have I have quarter inch in there now. (I could just use 3/16 of washers as spacers I suppose)

So, offset. I was thinking of that. But I noticed it's an illusion--this off set (at least on my 2012)--from the notch that is cut out from one bolt hole and not the other. That is, I think S&S already compensates for the backset of one cylinder by etching out the space where the driver side bolt goes? What I did was measure the distance on the original backplate.

Both read 3/8 to me? relative to where plate touches engine and where mount touches engine bolt hole. First passenger side
