Have you tried wiring the coil directly to the battery (via the ballast so you don't overload it)?

I had problems in the past with the ballast feed from the starter solenoid (fixed with a new solenoid) and also a dodgy rev counter cutting out the feed to the coil at certain times.

I know you've got a spark, but you know how it is with electrickery.....

It does sound weird that the timing is OK, fuel is getting in and you're not even getting a flutter with easystart.
