Following on from some comments about whether the rear fog lamp only works with main or dipped beam, I discovered today that my rear fog lamp works when any lights are on, main, dipped or side. When the light switch is completely off, the rear fog then stops working. I don't know the regulations for a 1996 car but I imagine it will get through the MOT next week.
