As has been pointed out AGM batteries require a different float charger regeim to maintain them relative to their requirements than older type non-AGM batteries. I have both types of CTEK chargers which seem to operate well enough, Ihe AGM one ( MXS 5.0) can be seen to operate in pulse mode every so often, which I suppose may be to reduce the chance of sulphation that Richard typed of.. The one attached to the Mog with it`s old style non-AGM battery has no such pulse indication.
