we also drive about 120km to Bremen to this Syrian restaurant.
We discovered this Syrian restaurant in September by chance when we were looking for a parking space in Bremen to go into the centre:
Some distance away I saw an Aero drive into a long warehouse right at the old River Weser harbour.
On the way back, we "accidentally" walked along the river Weser and took a look at this former warehouse.
Inside are various dealers for vintage cars, vintage car workshops, vintage car rental and 2 pubs.
There are about 30-40 classic cars between the workshops.
Entrance ist free.
One of the two restaurants is a Syrian restaurant.
Since Covid19, I don't think it's appropriate for me to be in restaurants filled with people or other enclosed spaces without mouth and nose protection because of health problems.
This Syrian restaurant had many tables outside with a view of the old overseas harbour: so why not try Syrian food?
You could also say: It doesn't matter whether it's German, Chinese or Syrian - the main thing is to go out for a light-hearted meal again.
That's how we got to know Syrian food.
Last week we visited the so-called "Christmas Market" in Bremen.
And of course parked near this warehouse.
This restaurant also has tables in a kind of open bedouin tents in the large hall with all the classic cars.
In september we enjoyed the food very much and the staff and the owner were very friendly in a very natural and discreet way.
These tables were unoccupied: Why not eat comfortably with a view of beautiful cars?
That sounds like a fascinating part of the Bremen area to visit with lots of car interest and food, what's not to like.
When we lived in Zeven we visited the Bremen Christmas Market held in the lovely square and visited the Town Hall and had some lunch downstairs as I recall.
We had Heathers Mum out staying with us for a few weeks and she loved the architecture of the Town Hall (as did we) and the bronze statue of the animals by the entrance so we bought her a coloured glass ornament of the animals and a water colour print of the Hall..
I remember Botcherstrasse too just off the square which was lovely, many happy memories of Bremen and Hamburg visits.
We had a great Indonesian restaurant in Zeven which I think came about as there was a large number of NL soldiers on a NATO base just up the road at Seedorf.
Also a good Greek one and of course the normal top class German eateries.
Our eldest Daughter was born in Rothenburg hospital in 1978 ..
