Hopefully it will be the same in the UK ... we have a worldwide reputation for 'garagistas' and their mad automotive creations ... it would be stupidity to kill all those niche builders, especially as a lot of their output goes to export.

SMMT report lists 21 'low volume' manufacturers - though that includes Aston, Bentley, Lotus, McLaren, Rolls Royce, who you'd think would all exceed 1000 cars a year production. But maybe they don't sell that many in the EU.
