I saw that one of the big “Cloud” companies ( can’t remember if Facebook, Apple or other) were looking to build a big centre in Eire. The problem was that it is massively power hungry and there were questions about the effect on the grid capacity.
A balance, perhaps, of power needed versus benefit of heat byproduct being available for use.
Waste heat generated by any source is a handy byproduct. Many years ago I remember seeing cooling water from a coal fired power station being used as a feed into a fish farm. Warm water accelerated growth of some of the premium fish. I don’t know how successful or viable though.
A local power station ( now long gone) discharged warm water into adjoining estuary. The outlet was a popular place to fish. Sea water sucked in for cooling and warm water exiting.
