Found the sensor and replaced. Checked the Gems manual in Gomog and found an ID for the sensor. Phoned Rimmer Bros to confirm as they had some showing. Bought, arrived and fitted. Same sensor for both pre and post cat. Cancelled the fault codes and ran the engine. All ok. Did a short test drive and ok. Did a longer run yesterday and all ok.
As part of diagnosis I used my Maxiscan to do a live data run. It showed a varying voltage on the pre-cat sensor on bank 2. The even cylinder numbers so engine rhs (not post cat as in the previous post). Checked plugs and all looked ok. Sprayed release fluid on the sensor whilst waiting for the new part. Unscrewing it went ok, removing it via the chassis access hole a tight fit. The grommet protecting the wires needed taking off and the multi-pin connector also tight to push through. There are 2 sensors routed through so a bit of teasing needed. CAREFUL smear of copper grease on the new sensor thread. Tightened to torque ( best guess as open ended spanner. No way to use a socket/ ring spanner unless they have a slot to pass the wiring through). They are available but not needed in my case.
The Gems manual sensor number is AMR6244, Rimmer Bros found it easily to confirm.
