what a reply ,thank you.had the car fault tested on the mainland when it was running and it came up with the sensor issue codes.i am certainly no mechanic and am finding my feet.have looked for a gems diagnostic tool,but so far no luck.i do have a basic cheap code reader that does read the codes.i use a local mobile mechanic who works on anything from 40 tonne trucks downwards.there is a garage not that far who has an autologic machine but he doesnt bother to reply.i want to use the car all year,much of its life it has been stored it has only done 19000 miles in 21 years ,so not so good.because of my lack of knowledge i fear doing something wrong to the car,thats why i check on here.thank you for your advice
