They used to recruit a lot from the local area. I was in the local Youth Theatre when I was at school in the 80's, and Sam went on to play John Archer, and Frances played Helen Archer.

At Uni, my mate Dan's mum was Jennifer Aldrige.


That is just how it should be which makes the show so relatable to anywhere in the English countryside. The scripts are so well written that I can get lost in my English eccentricity for a relaxing 15 minutes and see in my mind the local Herefordians that were the fabric of that part of the country. Now that is good Radio.
