While Peter may have made a number of technical and factual comparisons he seems to ignore the emotional factors.
I would bet that driving a Porsche of any genre will not bring anything like the response from the general public that you experience when driving a Morgan.
When I think of the number of occasions that we have been waved at, photographed, had people wanting to be photographed next to the car, or just passers by who want to stop and chat (even when we don't have a common language) or being waved out of a junction I remember that owning a Morgan is special.
I recall on one occasion being mobbed by a coachload of Japanese tourists at a motoway services in France I feel pretty sure that nothing else compares with the Morgan experience.
However - each to their own. I'm sure Peter will enjoy his Porsche.
John
I can second all.
If the question is wether a Morgan is worth the money I am not sure.
I think it is better not to repeat my comments about the quality of Morgans. Let me say that not every handmade car is a masterpiece...
I perhaps I am a little bit biased because I drive japanese bikes and sell parts for this bikes since more than 35 years...
So is my 4/4 worth the money? YES!
You get what you pay for...in my case all what John wrote!
But if you don't want to pay a lot of money for all John discribed - a Morgan is not worth the money.
I for myself have not so deep pockets for a new Morgan.
And no, a new Morgan isn't worth the money *** FOR ME!***
Each for his own!
