My Plus8 (2002) had a replacement MMC rad fitted by a previous owner. It doesn’t overheat but the fan cuts in quite often in summer. It is a bit underspecified to cope with the heat generation and less than optimum airflow. Not a problem but hearing the fan so often can be tedious. I have rear bonnet extenders fitted in summer and am trying ducting extra air to the lower area of the rad as it is shielded a bit by the number plate mounting method. I carry extra fuses for the circuit in case one blows as the fan is needed in summer on long runs in traffic. Next job is fitting a manual switch to put the fan on. In winter the gauge runs at 80degC but in summer it increases to 90degC hence the fan cutting in more often at slower speeds. Trigger temp is about 98degC.
