The first glue used softens under heat. Whilst not a problemn for UK based drivers, it is an issue for any body living in a country with above zero summer temperatures :-)
And the second glue tested, didn t like cold weather and shrunk when temperature dropped below 10°, and then break the window (It happned to me...)
Whilst the factory produced drilled glasses, I used Sikaflex which was carefully laid down and the galss was baked at 65°. It works perfectly for 30 months now, with some extreme driving conditions (Mont Blanc with -25° on a memorable trip to Milan, and southern Spain at 52°)
Nevertheless, I have a set of drilled glass in my garage just in case something would go wrong.
Rims are fragile and the paint may chip off the car. They can be repainted or refurbished, but at a cost
Re the sereo I use a Alpine Sytem which is handy as there is a LCD GPS foldable system and a bluetooth connection for mobile.
Works OK but the sound pipes are the only thing you want to listen to when driving the car!
Mine was controled at 273 kilometres an hour by the Gendarmes which is 175 mph. Driving it at that speed is an act of faith, as the front end becomes very light
I now run Michelin rather than the Avon but didn t notice much difference
The steering is a bit dull, even if, with a sharper set up of rake camber and toe, the car is crisper to drive. But still not ideal and as I like
