Frank,
I'll have to give them a go. The dealer I have used for the last ten years made a real poor job last time.

When I picked it up they said they had rebalanced the wheels because of steering vibration but the rear LHS was distorted.

I got it home after a nightmare drive. I replaced the LHS wheel with the spare. Things improved but not fully.

Despite the check list saying they had checked the damper blades & tyre pressures I decided to check them.

The damper blades were loose and the tyre pressures all over the place so that it had St Vitus' dance. Now all fixed by me.

The inspection list also shows that the spark plugs were checked as was the gap. As the car is now heading for it's 15th birthday in August I decided over the break to change the plugs.

To do that you need to remove the bonnet. The bonnets screws hadn't been touched at the service (or if they were the patina on the brass wasn't damaged), and as you can't access the 1 st & 2nd plug without removing the bonnet it got me to thinking that the garage really hadn't checked them.

NGK recommend BKRG6E plugs for the T16 gapped at 0.8mm. The plugs were BKRG6ES which NGK say is a less preferred alternative copper core.
#s 1,2 & 4 were at around the correct gap.
# 3 cylinder was gapped at 0.6mm.

The car now drives much better.

Live & learn I guess.
