I was gifted an Electrolux cylinder vacuum cleaner from the 60's in 1988, which was found in a vacated council house, and "liberated". It's one of those all metal constructs with a pink ribbed casing, and a long material covered hose.
The bag inside is cotton.
I've used that ever since in the garage and it's sucked up most things it shouldn't have, and yet still works perfectly.
