Mine is covered in the same leather as the seats.
Smart idea, Keith. The old French dealer used to offer his trads with a package of such stuff and an extended warranty. That went a long way to finishing the cars and sorting the cars, a necessary Morgan tradition.
I also enjoy seeing the real wood stuff!
The older trads used to have steering column covers from the aftermarket. Melvyn even offered faux burl along with the polished stainless ones he still sells. But the new covers are way to large to make polished metal look suitable, even for a shiny metal nit like myself. Of course, Morgan interiors use veneers..burl very often. When my present Morgan arrived from the factory, I cut up the burl dash they delivered it and fashioned a console for my radio/sound system.
In the shadows under the dash it passes for a match for the aftermarket dash I use. These days one can buy any type of veneer one wishes, real or faux burl in any variant and the latter in peel and stick, to cover anything. Very inexpensive.
