You don't see much use of Burr because the lovely 'figure' varied grain and pattern you see is because it's sourced from the really gnarly bits of the trunk, it's very difficult to work as a solid timber and a right pita to cut into thin veneers, our long gone joiners shop used the deliberately over price Burr spec work so they didn't win it
