Don't disagree with you, the biggest consumer of oil is the plastics industry. But I do find the Norwegian sense of the moral high ground on the banning of the ICE is very akin to the UK claiming it's made the greatest reductions in its green house gases since 1990, doesn't reflect that we have off shored our dirty consumerism to places like China and then point the finger at them.
Oil will still be a part of our culture for decades to come, at least the UK is now starting to realise, if we are still to need hydrocarbons, then use our own oil and gas rather than leave it in the ground and buy in from abroad. Create/retain wealth in the UK and reduce our exposure to foreign influences.
