Reminds me a a SciFi story that I read in a periodical from the '50s or '60s in which the hero saved the colonised planet from the sudden overheating of the local sun by exploding rockets, just outside the atmosphere, that were full of some substance which reflected the suns rays. If I recall correctly it was sulphur because it surrounded the planet in a golden haze.

Perhaps all we need is another Krakatau, In 1883, Krakatau’s explosion caused a century of climate chaos

Then again perhaps the rise in ocean temperatures is the result of recovery from the cooling effect of Krakatua. thinking
