The 4/4 is indeed the purest form of the trad Morgan, and tbh I do wonder why more power and wider wheels are "needed" given the compromises inherent in the underlying design. I chose it for a vintage driving experience but with modern reliability, and so far have not been disappointed - it's the most fun, and pride of ownership, I've had with any car. However mine predates the 4/4 Sport and I do like having shiny wire wheels, a spare, overriders, and even the wing-mounted sidelights. And the easy-up hood is essential even though far from perfect (I can't bring myself to say it's good because unfortunately it's not) - I just could not live with the traditional hood I'm afraid.
I am often asked "how old is it" or told "I had one just like that 40 years ago" and yet I can mostly keep up with the motorcycles on the B1275 (the "Helmsley TT" that runs through my village), all on four cylinders and 165x15 tyres.
